What the AI Tools Lab is and who it is for
The AI Tools Lab is a growing set of free tools that help you think through AI agents before you talk to anyone. You enter a few facts about your business, and the tool turns them into a result you can read, save or share: a loss estimate, a payback view, a team chart, a map of processes or a readiness check.
The tools are written for people who run the business, not for engineers. They suit owners, office managers and operations leads who are asking a practical question: is an AI agent worth trying here, and where would it start?
- Owners of service businesses who suspect that missed calls are costing them work.
- Managers who need a number and a simple picture to bring to a team or an owner.
- Teams that already have a list of ideas and need help choosing the first agent.
- Anyone who wants an honest look at readiness before paying for a pilot.
The tools at a glance
Five tools are available at launch. Each one has its own page and ends with a result you can keep.
Missed-call loss meter
A calculator that estimates what unanswered calls may be costing you, from the figures you type. Open the loss meter.
AI agent payback simulator
A calculator that sets the cost of running an agent against what it could return, using your own assumptions. Open the payback simulator.
AI team builder
A planner that draws an AI team chart, so you can see which agents could cover which jobs. Open the team builder.
First AI agent picker
A planner that places your processes on a bubble map to help you compare candidates for a first agent. Open the picker.
AI readiness audit
A short self-check on where your company stands before an agent project. Open the audit.
All five are free. New tools are added regularly, and the hub shows what is available now.
How privacy works in the lab
The tools are built so that your figures stay with you. Each tool runs in your browser, which means the work happens on your own device and not on a server of ours.
- What you type into a tool is not sent to us or to anyone else.
- What is stored is your Lab Pass progress, and it sits only in your own browser.
- What you can clear is that progress: removing the site data in your browser removes it.
- What you send us is only what you choose to submit in a form, such as the notify box or a scope request.
How Lab Pass and share cards work
Every tool can produce a share card image and a plain-text summary. Use the image for a post or a message, and the text for an email or a note to your team. Sharing is optional, and no tool needs it to work.
Lab Pass keeps track of what you have tried. Completing tools earns levels called Explorer, Builder and Architect, and the levels open extras. Your progress is stored only in your own browser, so it does not follow you to another device or browser.
- More share card themes, so a card can match the look you prefer.
- A printable Lab report that gathers your results in one place.
- A downloadable blueprint file you can keep.
How to choose a tool
Start from the question you are asking. If you have no clear question yet, begin with the readiness audit or the first AI agent picker, and let the result point to the next step.
| You want to know | Use this tool | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| What unanswered calls may be costing you | Missed-call loss meter | An estimate built from your own figures |
| Whether an agent could pay for itself | AI agent payback simulator | A payback view built from your assumptions |
| What an AI team could look like in your company | AI team builder | An AI team chart |
| Which process to hand over first | First AI agent picker | A bubble map of your processes |
| How ready the company is for agents | AI readiness audit | A self-check result |
The tools work in any order, and each result stands on its own. Trying several also moves your Lab Pass forward.
How the tools connect to real work with us
A tool result is an estimate on a screen. Real work starts when you decide to test an idea on your own data, and that is a separate step with its own rules. You never need the tools to talk to us, and using them does not commit you to anything.
Request
Send a short request through the form on this site or call 773-800-1520. Describe the process you want to hand to an agent. A tool summary can help, but it is not required.
Short call
We talk through the process, the systems involved and the steps that must stay with a person.
Written scope
You receive a written scope that names the goal, the tools, what the agent may do alone, what needs approval and how success is measured. Nothing is built before that.
Pilot with approvals and logs
We build a pilot on accounts you own. The agent asks for approval on risky steps, every action is logged and the agent can be switched off. We review the logs with you before anything is rolled out.
See all services, read how AI consulting and workflow automation are scoped, or look at how we run agents in our own business on the proof page.
What the tools cannot do
The lab is for planning. A result is only as good as the figures and guesses you put in, and a tool knows nothing about your business beyond what you type.
- They are planning aids, not forecasts. A loss estimate or a payback view shows what your assumptions imply, not what will happen.
- They give no financial, legal, tax or compliance advice.
- They do not connect to your phone system, your calendar or your customer records, so they cannot see your real data.
- They do not run an agent, and they do not replace a pilot on real data.
- Two people with different assumptions will get different results, and that is expected.
